Última Bats from the Atlantic rainforest of southern Bahia, Brazil Biota Neotropica Faria,Deborah; Soares-Santos,Binael; Sampaio,Erica. Data collected during 16 years of bat surveys (1986 to 2002) in southern Bahia, Brazil, is presented here. Bats were surveyed in 14 municipalities, in habitats that included residences, caves, forests and agricultural areas, resulting in a total of 6576 captures of 60 species from the bat families Emballonuridae (5 sp), Noctilionidae (1 sp), Phyllostomidae (46 sp), Thyropteridae (1 sp), Natalidae (1 sp), Molossidae (3 sp) and Vespertilionidae (2 sp). These data include 29 species not previously documented for the state of Bahia. We also report the first record of Vampyrodes caraccioli for this biome, extending its distribution over 3.000 km eastwards. The most frequent species (at least in 10% of the samples) are considered according to their average abundance and dominance. The average specific richness of the ponds where the species have been collected is studied. In a second stage, the Gastropoda are analysed by means of a principal component analysis. The 1-2 plane correspond to 87% of the whole variance. This analysis associated with a cluster analysis led to the partition of 5 groups of species. This paper uses Theil's (1979) entropy-based measure of inequality and farm-level data to examine changes in farm business wealth (farm equity) of farm households. The farms associated with farm households are grouped by state into ten regions of the United States. The Theil entropy measure is then calculated and used to decompose total inequality of farm wealth into within-state and across-states (between states) inequalities for each region. Results show that since the enactment of the 1996 Federal Agricultural Improvement and Reform (FAIR) Act, inequality in farm wealth among farms within a state has decreased relative to the number of farms per state, across all regions. Resumo: Este trabalho apresenta as estimativas atualizadas de emissões de metano (CH4), monóxido de carbono (CO), óxido nitroso (N2O) e óxidos de nitrogênio (NOx) provenientes da queima da cana-de-açúcar no estado de São Paulo com relação ao período de 1990 a 2015, utilizando os Documentos Orientadores (Guidelines) sobre Elaboração de Inventários de Emissão de Gases de Efeito Estufa do Painel Intergovernamental de Mudança do Clima - IPCC, de 2006. Em referência a 1990 foram estimadas emissões de 58,51 Gg de CH4, 1993,55 Gg de CO, 1,52 Gg de N2O e 54,17 Gg de NOx, reduzindo a 32,58 Gg de CH4, 1.110,14 Gg de CO, 0,84 Gg de N2O e 30,17 Gg de NOx em 2015. La présente étude constitue une première tentative pour la connaissance des Gastéropodes dans les zones marines côtières de Monastir (Sayada, Tboulba et Elbkalta). L’échantillonnage a été réalisé dans ces zones durant les mois de mai et juin 2006. Au total, 23 stations de 5 à 20 mètres ont été prospectées. Les prélèvements ont été effectués au moyen d’une benne Van Veen ; le contenu est tamisé sur maille de 2 mm de côté. Après traitement des échantillons, 29 espèces de Gastéropodes ont été identifiées avec une dominance de deux espèces : Tricolia speciosa et Smaragdia viridis. The bibliography and the registries of fish caught in the Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Uruguay coastal littoral area during 33 research cruises were analyzed to elaborate the first ichthyic inventory of the region. A total of 147 species belonging to 71 families was registered. The figure represents 48% of the specimens reported for the Argentine-Uruguayan Common Fishing Zone and 37% of the marine species mentioned for the SW Atlantic. The list of coastal marine fishes of Uruguay and north of Argentina is the first attempt to provide basic information to evaluate possible temporal changes of the ichthyic composition in the area. Hidrozoos de aguas poco profundas fueron recolectados en 17 estaciones en julio del 2004. Las estaciones se localizaron en manglares, pastos marinos y arrecifes coralinos. Se encontraron hidrozoos de dos subclases (Anthoathecata y Leptothecata), 11 familias, 27 géneros y 34 especies. Se indican la localidad de recolecta, la profundidad, el tipo de sustrato, la descripción y las figuras de 15 especies de hidrozoos tecados. This paper models the interaction of working (also called pipeline) and speculative commodity stocks. We model working inventories (i.e., raw material inventories carried by processors) based on Ramey’s (1989) model of inventories as factors of production, which allows us to represent storage under inter-temporal price backwardation, observed in commodity markets. We incorporate both speculative and working stocks in a simple model to analyze the interaction and to simulate the relationship between inter-temporal commodity price spreads and stocks.
